Grove Street Fiduciary Is Sole Sponsor of Dickens’ America Play at Park Theatre

One-man play returns for its second production on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at 7:30 p.m.

The Park Theatre announced today that Grove Street Fiduciary is the sole sponsor of the return of Dickens’ America, the original one-man play written by the theatre’s CEO and Managing Director, Steve Jackson. The performance will take place on the Eppes Auditorium Stage on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets remain $25. Dickens’ America is part of the 4th Annual New England Dickens Fest produced by The Park Theatre.

Following its acclaimed debut staged reading in December 2025, Dickens’ America returns for its second production, with Adam Sowers portraying Charles Dickens. Adapted by Jackson from “American Notes for General Circulation,” Dickens’ account of his 1842 visit to the United States, the play follows the celebrated author’s travels from Boston through New England and the mid-Atlantic.

Through Dickens’ sharp wit and keen observations, the play explores the promise and contradictions of a young nation still finding its identity. His encounters and impressions offer audiences a glimpse of nineteenth-century America through the eyes of one of literature’s most celebrated storytellers.
