New Feature Film Starring Autistic Actors Has Pre-Release Screening at Park Theatre in Jaffrey
Groundbreaking completed film returns to Park Theatre with Q&A and free admission.
You may have seen the sneak preview of some footage from this groundbreaking film last year at a Park Theatre special event. There is now an exclusive pre-release screening of the completed Pointing Fingers movie at The Park in Jaffrey, New Hampshire, on Sunday, April 19, at 3pm. There will be a Q&A session with the production team and actors afterwards. This free Filmmakers Series screening has been made possible by an anonymous underwriting grant.
The storyline of this Boston-area produced film is about Francis and Claire, a couple with minimally speaking autism, who take the bold step of living alone with the help of their beloved communication aide, Daisy. When Daisy is murdered, Francis and Claire are wrongfully accused of the crime. Deprived of their ability to self-advocate and treated as intellectually disabled, they must bring the real killer to justice in order to prove their innocence. Amidst this chaos, they hire an unexpectedly adept but dangerous new communication partner, organize their families, and rally their fervent online fan base. Their love for one another not only endures but grows immensely through this conflict.
Pointing Fingers not only stars two autistic actors, Emily Faith Grodin and Dan Bergmann, but it is also written by Dan Bergmann a. The film is directed by award-winning filmmaker Michael Bergmann (Dan’s father). The film also stars Lisa Bostnar, Kurt Zischke, and Thomas Murphy.
