Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr
Commemoration of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Holiday on the theme "Our Beloved Community" features JerriAnne Boggis of the Black Heritage Trail New Hampshire as keynote speaker, New Hampshire Youth Poet Laureate Rachel Sturges reading an original poem, music by Jaffrey and Rindge school choirs, announcement of winners in the MLK Student Multi-Media Poetry Contest and presentation of community benches created as this year's MLK National Day of Service project. The event is heralded at 4:45 p.m. with the ringing of the Unitec Church's Revere bell as part of the "Let Freedom Ring: Choose Non-Violence" national Bell-Ringing Ceremony and followed by a reception.
