Electric Earth Concerts presents Schubert's "Die Winterreise"
Electric Earth Concerts presents "Die Winterreise", Schubert's profound and tragic late song cycle, a concert-length setting of 24 poems by Wilhelm Müller, on Sunday,
August 11, at 4 pm at the acoustically and aesthetically gorgeous Old Meetinghouse in Francestown, NH.
Baritone Thomas Meglioranza joins EEC favorite David Breitman, fortepianist in what is sure to be a moving and exquisite musical event.
Thomas Meglioranza was a winner of the Walter W. Naumburg, Concert Artists Guild, Franz Schubert/Music of Modernity, and Joy In Singing competitions.
Pianist David Breitman directs the Historical Performance program at Oberlin. He is equally at home with the fortepiano and the modern piano, and enjoys both solo and ensemble playing.
"an immaculate and inventive recitalist...the young American baritone has become a critic's darling for his mellifluous voice and sterling diction."
--The New Yorker
"...Beethoven's creative psyche was in part shaped by an innate desire to push the instruments of his time to their physical and expressive limits, and it is this sense of living close to the edge that David Breitman and Jaap ter Linden embrace with infectious exuberance, captured in sound of alluring warmth and detail."
--Julian Haylock, The Strad
